Job Skills: Is an extremely skilled solo airship pilot and that’s his true passion – to fly and be a hero the same time. Also knows many things about mechanics, about how planes work and how to fix them and modify them, if he’s given the chance to do that (is such a science geek). Fighting is no problem for him either – doesn’t really like to use swords, but he has a small dagger with him at all times and he knows how to use it. His speciality is guns though, pistols and revolvers he has designed himself to increase and add certain functions, but is capable of using almost any kind of firearms.
Personality and short background:
- Personality –
Alfred is a person you’ll probably remember for the rest of your life if you meet him even once. First of all, you just can’t miss the aura of exuberance radiating from him, from his bright smiles and sky blue eyes and his actions, whatever he’s doing. He’s a person that captures your attention with his friendliness and benevolence, with his genuine and earnest wish to do good, save the world and make it a better place – to be a true hero.
That makes him a bit naive, though. He truly believes that, with confidence and set determination, by being a hero, he can rid the world of evil, either by turning bad guys to good guys or doing what a hero must do; defeating the evil. Because, obviously, the world is black and white like that. Some people are good and some are evil.
So whatever he does, he aims for doing the right thing. And even though his worldview might be a bit black and white…ish, he’s not stupid or simple. He can understand other people’s point of views and lifesituations, and be extremely sympathetic and put himself into their position, if he’s just told about them and maybe.. guided to the right direction. He has lived his whole life in a military environment, hearing about pirates’ horrendous acts and other stories about criminals and outlaws, of course he is a bit (or a bit more) biased.
Being fair is what matters him the most, altogether. He does not stand injustice at all, no matter which affiliation is doing it, and he’s determined to correct unfairness any way he can.
The effervescent person Alfred is, his actions usually tend to be a bit exaggerated. Many people can consider his boisterous personality to be rather annoying, if not plain infuriating, but usually he doesn’t notice, or ignores on purpose, if people call him something like that (sometimes it can be a bit difficult for him to read the atmosphere, but many of those times he does it intentionally). Romance is not one of his strongest qualities and he can be outright awkward when it comes to things like that. Behind his exuberant personality he does have insecurities too, but he’s hidden them deep inside of him and usually refuses to show them to anyone. He doesn’t want to appear as weak or vulnerable.
Behind all that confidence and talk about heroism, in certain matters he can appear as rather innocent and childish too, the best example probably being his absolute inability to deal with ghosts, ghost stories and the like. He would never admit it out loud though, his utter fear of ghosts.
- Background -
Like stated earlier, Alfred has lived his whole life being influenced by the military – his father and mother divorced when he was only a few years old and his mother moved away from the American Free States. He was left with his father who took him with him to the military airship he was working in, as the navigator and later on as the captain. For the time being young Jones was allowed to stay on the ship as it travelled across the skies over the Free States, but if the ship had some more dangerous missions ahead, Alfred was left to the Military’s headquarters in the capital of the Free States.
There, in the HQ, Alfred got his first lessons about airship mechanics, physics and other related sciences, especially the steamtechnology. And he fell in love with them, and it showed. In no time he had grasped the basics of engineering and continued to learn more, and soon it all wasn’t enough and he started to put his creativity into better use, designing and in the end building and modifying his own planes (at least models), weapons and other gadgets.
After he had turned 14 he saved enough money to travel across the sea and go to Heta Empire, where all the experts in the field of steammechanics and sciences resided. He got a job, or something what could be called even remotely like a job, as young as he was, on an airship garage near Londinium. There he increased his knowledge in mechanics, but he also got to improve his flying skills, as the basics he had been taught in the American Free States already.
And oh boy, if there was something that was more amazing than sciences, it was flying, no doubt about it. So now, in the midst of his working and learning more about mechanics, he started to practice flying with a solo airship, and knowing the laws of physics and understanding them, it didn’t take long from him to grasp the idea of flying, and with a few years of continuous practice he became and excellent pilot.
The moment he turned old enough to apply to the military school, he send his application and was accepted. Living with his father in a military base and spending most of his time there he had attained a strong sense of justice, and the wish and dream to become a hero-- no, the most heroic hero of all time! He did brilliantly in the school, despite some faults like his big mouth, restlessness in classes and even absence at times, and he graduated in a record time. The first thing he did after getting out of the school was sending an application to the well known military ship IHA Berliner – he wanted an own ship, yes, but in time, and before that he needed some experience (so they said) and the IHA Berliner seemed like the most awesome option. He wished so hard to get accepted it was insane, but he was not going to give up, no matter what!
Other:
- Always carries with him a pocket watch his father gave him before he left the American Free States and it’s probably the most important and valuable item he has in his posession (even though it probably hasn’t got that much financial value…) – it has been in their family for ages already, always given from father to son.

Alfred raised his gaze up, a determined smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he regarded the clear, cloudless and vast blue sky that seemed to continue on forever, that was so full of possibilities and hope and freedom the blond had troubles to contain his enthusiasm.
He had just stepped out of the Military’s training school with his graduation papers tightly grasped in his hand and his commander’s words, congratulations, clear in his mind. He had done it-- not that there had been any doubt at any point, no way! But he, Alfred F. Jones, was now officially a memeber of the Military and qualified to serve on a Military ship.
Unable to prevent the huge grin now spreading on his lips, Alfred lowered his gaze from the sky and took off, his steps hasty but light against the hard surface of the ground as he headed towards the nearest recruitment office of the Military as fast as he could. He had waited for this day for… for years, he hadn’t really counted them, but it was over ten years anyway, so he was not going to waste any more time.
Officer Jones, Alfred smiled widely at his own thoughts. Maybe Captain Jones in a few years-- wait, I mean, definitely in a few years! because really, his dream was to become a Captain of his own ship and there was no way he’d be completely satisfied before he had attained that. So he didn’t accept any maybes there.
The streets were bustling with life, as always, but Alfred had no troubles maneuvering his way through the crowds, with all his military training and--
”Oops, sorry!”
Well, okay, almost no troubles, bumping into a few people didn’t count.
Soon he arrived at the recruitment office though, and panting only slightly Alfred marched up to the counter, gave a dashing smile at the young woman sitting behind the desk and looking up from her papers when the American came closer, and placed his graduation papers in front of her on the wooden surface.
”Hello Ma’am, your worries are now officially over as the hero is in the house!”
