It had apparently been a busy week for Londinium, as Peter was able to garner double his usual weekly earnings due to two times the extra work. He hadn’t really found the extra money direly necessary, but it sure was convenient! After counting up the bank notes with some difficulty, it was decided that he would spend the money straightaway, leading him to the varied city marketplace, where he currently walked around with a bright spring in his step.
As tiring as it was to run all over Londinium, passing along everything from official-looking letters to mushy love notes, it was decidedly worth it given the money earned and the sheer enjoyment he took in reading some of the messages. Grown-ups really were ridiculous, but they paid him in full at least. Most of them anyway; there was always that jerk, more often than not a egotistical pirate, who refused to pay him after he ran their errands—usually something uncivil ensued, which was unsurprising. Jerks got what jerks had coming.
Speaking of jerks, Peter couldn’t stand the concentration of pickpockets in the open market area. He had already been stolen from more than three times in the past month, and it was beginning to greatly annoy the youth as well as affect him—he eyed passerby with a sulky suspicion as he tottered through the open stalls section, as if anyone might be a pickpocket out to steal his hard-earned money. Somewhere in the back of his mind he pondered if it was because of his short stature and age—did he really look so… vulnerable? Like such an easy target? He wouldn’t have it! Th-that was the idea, to look so innocent that they wouldn’t see it coming! The next time a thief of any sort came close, Peter was definitely going to sock him in the eye and hard too! Hard enough to send them running, yeah, and then no one would mess with the most amazing and powerful fighter known as Sealand!
That was a comforting resolve, at least, that he wouldn’t let anyone take advantage of him anymore. Still, he had been here for quite a while and none of the marketplace wares were deemed worthy of spending rare extra money on. He did see a really cool toy he wanted, but fell short on funds. Never did the idea of saving up money cross his mind—if you had extra money, it was a ‘duh’ to go and spend it. Duh. Still, that awesome, foreign-looking, hi-tech toy did haunt him as he walked bouncily along the shops and through the copious amount of bustling, shoving crowds, stopping sporadically here and there to peer, but never finding anything satisfactory. Peter was coming this close to settling on buying new clothes, something formerly unthinkable as clothes were boringly necessary and how he craved one of those toys... Shopping was so boring when you couldn't get anything cool and you were forced into shopping for dumb things like boring new clothes and food. That's what mamas and girls were for.
( Man do I tend to uselessly ramble. –promises to do that less- Practice, practice. Anyway, extremely open thread is open to anyone. Except pedophiles, they have to stay away. )

Mei counted her 'earnings' for the day as she walked through the market- It was so easy to take things from these people! All she had to do was distract them with some charm, wrap her arms around them, then take whatever she wanted by talking to them. It made it slightly better that nearly everyone here was male- They either worked here or came from the airships. But now, she'd found a new mark- A kid, clad in blue, who had been glancing at the same toy for a while.
Maybe I could negotiate something... He doesn't look very poor, I could make a deal with this kid~
She looked around, checking if nobody was watching her, before strolling over to the boy, tapping him on the shoulder to gain his attention.
"Hey cutie~! You look a little lost? Lonely?" She grinned at him, twirling a piece of her hair round her finger. The more innocent the better, MeiMei~

Peter had been pretty close to giving up and going home, maybe even saving his money-- pff, that was dumb-- when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned around quickly, startled. There was a girl. And she was... talking to him? Really, cooing almost, even though she didn’t look that older than him. The babying tone of her voice wasn't completely registered, however, on account of her gender and the fact that she was really pretty-- bright eyes, long hair, everything a girl was supposed to have. Right? Well....Peter didn't have a lot of experience with girls, and his main source of girl-related knowledge was the presumably drunken ramblings of pirates. But he didn't have the time to dip into that wealth of knowledge, because she was already talking.... It was difficult to tune into her words, as he was distracted by her grin and the small movement of her finger and her hair and... why were his cheeks feeling kind of hot? This was uncomfortable. "Uhh, well…” He stuttered, “You’re—I-I mean, no, I’m not lost!” At this point, he puffed out his chest as if to prove he was too good for something dumb like, like getting lost—that was dumb. “I’m perfectly fine!” He proclaimed, not angrily yet somehow eager to talk to her. “Y’know, I’m, um, I live by myself and stuff so just buying something is no sweat at all~” he continued brightly, patting the sidepocket of his pants in which all of his money was securely and safely placed. No pickpockets so far~ Man, he was getting to be kinda good at this not-getting-stolen-from thing.
((Ffffft, no, it's really fine :'D ))

Mei giggled, "Ah, you're so cute~! What's your name?" She leant down, and poked his nose lightly, "And you look so young! Why're you living on your own~?" He was starting to blush, so she made sure to put on her best 'I'm-an-innocent-and-sweet-girl-honestly!' smile.
She felt like smirking- She was getting this boy wrapped around her finger very easily, and soon enough, she'd have his money. The boy had already told her, well shown her, where his money was already! This was going to be easier than taking candy from a baby. which was incredibly easy... When the mother wasn't looking.
"So what're you buying, sweetie~?"

Her condescending voice was so annoying, but saying something like that to a girl would be... rude or something, right? She called him cute-- he hadn't been called cute in quite a while, but the word, when directed at him, reminded him of old ladies who fussed over him when he was a bit younger. But she, this girl, she certainly wasn't old, and while being called cute was decidedly irritating, Peter was just weirdly fascinated by her and all of her... girlish...ness. He stared after her hand in wonder, zoning out for a moment before regaining the ability to respond coherently. Right. That.
"Peter! My name's uh, Peter, but my c-code name is Sealand!" He was pretty proud of that, yeah, he had a code name like all the cool guys, and Sealand was really cool too, nevermind that nobody knew what it was. She was asking a lot of annoying questions, but he did want to answer-- no one ever really asked him questions like this, they just kinda told him what to do or barked profanities at him. Hmph. "I live on my own 'cause I can! I'm practically an adult n' all... huh? Oh... Erm, I don't really know what I'm buying yet. Just... looking around is all." That sounded dumb. Well, how was he supposed to know what he was gonna buy with his extra money? That's why girls were good at shopping and guys were good at all the other, much more important and cool stuff, like fighting off giant monsters. "If you want, I mean, I guess you can come with me and we can find something for me to buy... Er, what's your name?"

When nursing hell’s worst hangover, the last place one would want to visit was probably the busy, crowded streets of the Londinium market. The only excuse for such an action would have been something like the search for an obscure, herbal remedy, but that wasn’t what Arthur Kirkland had in mind as he wandered through the market’s winding roads. Surrounded by loud shopkeepers haggling with their patrons over the newest goods from distant lands, Arthur wasn’t really sure why he had brought himself to such a chaotic place. It certainly wasn’t helping to ease the constant pounding that tore at his skull every other second, nor were the smells of raw fish helping to quell the nausea that threatened to tear at his gut all too frequently. Perhaps he could pin it upon the haziness that was fogging his brain, left over from the night before. Of course his decision-making abilities were still slightly impaired, if only at the hand of a different symptom from the same plague.
As he was still weighed down with plenty of gold from his last raid, Arthur decided that he would find some nice fresh fruit to snack on throughout the day, and perhaps a hearty meat pie to top it off. Satisfied with his choice, he began to keep a lookout for a decent fruit stall as he continued to make his way through the crowd, doing his best to ignore the pain in his skull. He wasn’t wandering long before his eye caught a familiar sight, however; surely he wasn’t imagining the sandy mop of hair that poked through the gap in the crowd a few feet away. Chuckling humourlessly to himself, Arthur pushed through the collection of people going about their daily work to get to his little brother, ignoring all sounds of protest.
“Hello Peter,” he spoke into the young boy’s ear, sneaking up behind him and placing a hand on his shoulder without warning. Noticing the girl in front of his brother only a moment later, Arthur straightened up and nodded in her direction, extending a far more formal greeting. “Good day to you too, miss. I do hope that this one hasn’t been a nuisance; he’s only just learning the way of the world, you know. Such a young lad.” He shook his head and patted Peter’s mop of hair, working up the condescension just for the hell of it.

Peter watched the girl intently, arms crossed as he waited for her reply with typical boyish impatience. If she didn't want to come, that was fine too and all, he was just asking. Juuuust asking was all. As soon as it looked like she was about to speak, however, he felt a hand on his shoulder and a creeperish whisper in his ear, resulting in a surprised shriek and jumping a foot or so off of the ground. Sometimes he was so dumb. Wheeling around with a mind to punch whatever creeper dared to creep so creepishly up on him, Peter saw that it was just dumb, stupid, jerkish jerk Arthur, his dumb jerkish older brother who was a total jerk. N-not even worth punching. He was about to slap his hand away or at least grouchily shrug it off but he was already talking to the girl and simultaneously irking Peter with his irritatingly eloquent way of calling the younger brother a stupid kid. Well, that's what he was doing, wasn't he? Jerk. The girl had some kind of magical pass to be condescending, but Arthur sure didn't. "I'm not being a nuisance!" he protested, "She came up to me first, and-- stoppit, you stupid jerkface--"

[[S-sorry guys, crap post =3= ]]
A codename? ... Boys are strange.
Mei opened her mouth to answer the boy's- Peter's, questions, when an odd man approached Peter from behind.
Peter had shrieked, resulting in Mei giggling a little, "He's right, I started to talk to him first, he's no trouble at all. If being cute and innocent makes him a nuisance, then he's a nuisance." Mei pulled Peter towards her, and hugged him tightly, putting her hand onto the back of his head and pushing his face into her chest.
"My name's Mei, but friends call me MeiMei." There. She talked to the newcomer, and answered one of Peter's questions! Result. The blonde man, with the caterpillars on his face, was starting to irritate her- All she wanted to do was take Peter's money, but the presence of this noob made it difficult.
"I was just about to go with Peter dear, but now you're here, you may as well tell me who you are so you can come with us." She'd already deduced that he was British because of the accent, but she had yet to receive an introduction from him. Maybe he has money... She thought, keeping hold of Peter, not letting him move- Her grip on him had turned into a vice-like one, as she started to grow impatient, but kept her innocent act up.
