Job Skills: Besides his prodigious musical skills and his articulation, he has an extremely wonderful voice, soft and sultry. He’s pretty neat, his organizational skills are pretty good as well. His knowledge of psychology is supposed good for negotiations as well.
Personality and short background:Roderich was born into an aristocratic family, the Edelsteins were more blue-blooded, well, we’re all blue-blooded they just show it more. His parents were quite well off. But his father then fell in love with a common courtesan, who would seduced for his money, and the intoxicated poor man (Frau Edelstein was homely) ran away with most of his fortune and left her holding the bag full of lottery tickets, the toddler, and extensive debts. Frau Edelstein wasn’t very thrilled. She relied on her Great Aunt to supply her income. Roderich, however, was always encouraged to keep up his musical and cultural studies like an Austrian Gentleman (The Edelstein’s moved to Londinium for Herr Edelstein’s job) should. This included knowledge of psychology, a stoic personality, and an occasional bout of snobbery. He may very well seem detached to other people, since he believes, as a true blue-blooded gentleman, feelings are not appropriate. Unfortunately, at the age of fourteen, Roderich’s mother died of Cholera and he spent his next year being coddled by his rheumatic Great-Great-Aunt who had the indecency to die on him 13th months after his mother of pneumonia.
On the street at the age of sixteen, Roderich began to make his living by playing a piano, if he could, but mostly he stuck to violin. It wasn’t that he was a bad player; it’s just that he had a very bad sense of direction. Whenever he would make some money, he’d get lost on the way to the shelter and end up in places where the sun (or law enforcement) didn’t shine. Roderich learned to save every penny in those streets. He also lost some of his snobbery. While it may show itself sometimes, Roderich knows how it’s like to be on your knees, begging for food. His greatest fear, besides belugas, is to end up cold and homeless again.
At the age of 19 he came across an advertisement the assisted home for the poor where he was living. The advertisement wanted a full-time dispatcher for the Londinium Air Corporation. He applied immediately and was hired quickly, because, as stated in his skills, Roderich has a very pleasant voice, attractive to most people, something that makes people trust him. Apparently his good upbringing and psychology knowledge were a plus. Roderich also has a romantic side to himself. He is insecure about his looks due to his mother being plain. He now lives in his own apartment.
Other: Nothing. He’s pretty ordinary. Well, almost.
RP sample:
Roderich sighed as he kept track of his watch. He had four minutes until the next Merchant ship, from the Cyrillic States, came in with an assortment of lumber. Staring out the window at the darkening skies, miraculously free from rain, he looked at the wrens flying nearby. This was his favorite art of his job; the beautiful skies he got to see from up high.
Secretly Roderich envied the captains. How he wished to be able to fly a ship, to lose himself in those stormy blue skies, and return to Earth as a dashing hero. He imagines himself battling pirates, to the tune of Blue Danube of course, how romantic would his voyages be!
Roderich was brought back to Earth by a voice breaking through on the radio communicator he had on his desk. Roderich sighed and said, “You’re all clear. Go to dock 23-East and land there. Have a safe landing.”
Swiveling in his chair, Roderich frowned as the ship docked. Why couldn’t there be some interesting occurence? Why couldn’t his life mean something?
