Name: Yakaterina “Katyushka” Braginskaya
Country/ Code Name: Ukraine/ Zaporozhia
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Civilian/Support – Farmer/Gardener
Likes:
Horses – Her father taught her how to ride when she was young. As her father had been taught by his father he had thought it natural that his children know the saddle.
Plants - As she was raised in a farm, it was only natural for her to acquire skills in agriculture. She is able to turn the most barren of soil to thriving gardens and fields.
When people are happy – Katyushka goes to great lengths to provide joy and happiness to her companions, even forgetting her own needs.
Dislikes:
Debt – Sadly there were times when the harvest failed and they fell into debt and struggled to pay it back along with her father’s failed investments.
Fights – She hates when people fight especially when they get hurt.
Bullies – She was usually bullied as a child. She was the only girl in the village her age and that caught the attention of boys that usually ended up bullying her.
Job Skills:
Katyushka’s time in the farm led her to excel in plant life and helped her gain a job as a gardener for one of Londiniums many Mansions. Aside from her green thumb she also set up a stall in the market for selling produce, largely in part of her kind employers who allowed her to grow anything beside the cabin that she lived in. She also sells a special type of fertilizer she made herself, apparently it makes plants grow two times faster, she branded it Zaporozhia. She also has great mathematical skill from trading goods all her life, although it doesn’t show that much.
Personality and short background:
Yakaterina is a quiet, happy-go-lucky country girl. She usually doesn’t talk much to people she doesn’t know but she tries to be polite at the least but when she sees someone in trouble or sad she immediately goes to their side, whatever the circumstance. People usually see her and tend to immediately appreciate her assets specially the men but it usually gives her back pain though.
During her childhood, Katyushka would often wait by the door of their cottage and await her father’s return and when he did they did nothing but play, ride horses and search for herbs in the nearby woods. Sadly her father usually went on business trips and left her alone at home to tend to the farm with the workers.
Even though they were farmers in the steppes, her father was an entrepreneur and an investor but he left her impoverished when she was just 18. Sadly most of his investments failed and he died leaving only the farm and a few stores in her name thankfully she managed to get through with her intricate knowledge of the land and some of her father’s friends still in business who had managed to help her situation by getting for her the cheapest deals.
When a great famine came to her land she was about 22 and had little left to live by, the bank had almost repossessed her land, her workers had all quit and a load of debt on her shoulders from her father’s time, every year increasing its interest. In her mind there was nothing left to do but to leave and she set out to do so.
Upon the insistence of an uncle Khelnytsy, an investor in Russia and an associate of her father’s, he had managed to convince her to go to Londinium. Paying for her trip, against her protests of paying it herself, she arrived at Lodinium by airship and was supposed to stay at an inn until she could find work. Thankfully while she was walking to her inn she encountered a woman whose mechanical carriage broke a wheel and tried to help her. Enlisting some of the male bystanders, or should it be enticing, to help and they fixed the wheel. Katyushka was thanked by the lady who turned out to be an aristocrat and was looking for a gardener, which she immediately accepted.
Other:
Some people keep on insisting that her Fertilizer has some kind of illegal chemical which she blatantly denies. She's also known for her fierce haggling of goods and gets the best from her limited budget.
RP sample:
The sun was rising from the horizon as Katyushka met it with her eyes. She was still in the intercontinental airship, it wasn’t the best of seats but it was fairly modest. She was served dinner and later breakfast. She was also given some bread and butter as a snack. Katyushka leaned back on her seat, and gave a sigh she peeked over the railing to see the clouds it was mostly clear and bright white underneath it were green fields, they must be on the mainland now.
After awhile a cabin boy arrived with some hot soup and ham and eggs. “Ma’am your breakfast.” The boy placed the food in the table in front of her and tipped his hat to leave. “W-wait!” Katyushka was a bit flustered when she said it since she didn’t want to bother him but her curiosity got the better of her. “Can you tell me where we are?” The boy laughed a bit since he thought he was going to be scolded. “Madam we’re about thirty minutes from Londinium. If there’s anything you need please just give me a holler.” The boy tipped his hat and he stopped cold when he noticed her plump bosom and quickly snapped out of it before she noticed it.
‘So about thirty minutes huh?’ Katyushka thought about how fast it went it was as though she was cleaning the shed in her farm an hour ago and now she’s sitting on an airship. How did she end up here again? She tried to remember. It was her uncle Khelnytsy who arrived at the farm 3 days ago, apparently someone had told him that the farm was about to be repossessed and that he had come to help. He offered her a chance at a new life at Londinium, he told her of its beautiful manors and gardens and their need for a good maintainer. Katyushka wasn’t exactly jumping at the idea of leaving her home but it seemed the most logical of choices and even though she might not have a job immediately she at least knew how to read and write and some chemistry aside from her agricultural background, she was sure to get a job at least. Her uncle gave her 1 day to think about it while he stayed at the town’s inn. By morning she had already decided to go and had her stuff packed in a large trunk, mostly it was clothes and every penny she owned.
Khelnytsy immediately delivered her to the airport and entrusted her to a local airship captain, whom she knew was another one of her father’s friends. Before she boarded, her uncle explained to her that she would be staying at a friend’s inn and that she wouldn’t be charged until she had found a job after that, her uncle gave her a fairly large sum, at least to her, for her stay for food and other items she might need.
