Job Skills:Sophie has nearly the same extent of training that her brother Francis has, save for the fact that she was never taught how to pilot ships. She is well trained in navigation and knows her way around the world, finding it quite easy to get to where she needs to go no matter where the place in question is. She has skills in fencing but prefers a pistol to a sword as she specializes in ranged combat. She normally perfers to end fights quickly, which is easier done by a bullet to the head. Her real combat talent, however, lies in mental warfare. She loves getting into people's heads and leading them by a string and find's doing this to be incredibly easy because people never see her coming.
Being raised in an aristocratic family, Sophie knows a great deal about the world and actually tends to worry quite a lot about what's going on and what kinds of things are happening but she's good at keeping this hidden. She is also well trained in the art of playing the helpless woman (even though she's far from it) and uses this to her advantage. She is trained to know the material worth of various objects. She also knows when to hold back comments and how to behave like society would expect a young woman too. The most useful thing she gained from her upbringing was numerous connections with weathly merchants, which she has no trouble taking advantage of.
Personality and short background:Nineteen years ago the wealthy Bonnefoy family gave birth to their second child and only girl, a healthy baby by the name of Sophie Aurélie. She grew up as any rich young lady would, learning the ways of elegance and the good life. She was taught how to plan and throw the most extravagant of balls and parties, that it was important to make strong connections, and the only way a woman could be successful in life was to find a strong husband. She enjoyed every bit of it, other than the part where she had to give her entire life to a man that she probably never would've picked. Everything about her childhood resulted in later habits and behaviors, many of which were expected and some of which were not. To everyone's face, she is extremely kind and tolerant. In fact, it's impossible to tell rather or not she hates you unless you ask someone who's close to her. She is also very spoiled and high maintenance, demanding only the best things in life. She can be inwardly picky about who she spends time with, though she'd never know it and she puts herself above everyone. The unexpected of being around endless amounts of money is her adoration of gambling, which is a shame to her family but she doesn't mind. In her mind, there was always enough money for her to spend and she was rather good at winning.
By the time Sophie hit marrying age, everything in her family changed. Her parents began stressing the importance of being a lady and presenting herself properly in order to get a desirable young man to want to marry her. Being who she was, Sophie continued to party and gamble and generally began to ignore her parents. The only reason she stayed with the family at that point was because of her brother but after he left, when she was 16, she decided it was time to plan her greatest escape. It took her six months to plan her path. She took enough money to stay on her feet until she found a place to go and vanished in the dark of the night.
After leaving her family, she found herself in a world of piracy. A world that she quite enjoyed.
RP sample: The house was silent as Sophie stared up at the ceiling in her room, blue eyes gently resting on above her. It'd been three months since Francis had left the house for business and already her parents were tightening their grip on the young girl. She didn't want to get married, especially to someone she wouldn't like that would expect her to do every last thing she was told and would want her to actually behave like the wife she was expected to be. She was starting to think that getting away from the house was a good idea, but she wasn't sure if she had the nerve to get up and do it at that moment. It made her angry with herself, being someone who so often did what she want in a situation where she just couldn't do it anymore. Was it because she wanted to make her parents proud? Or was it because she thought it was what dearest big brother wanted for her? She wasn't sure.
"Sophie..." One of the maids, a younger woman with big brown eyes, stood at the door watching the girl in the bed. Sophie sat up slowly and watched the maid carefully before sighing.
"What is it?" Sophie sat up slowly, a smile snaking across her lips. It was a serene smile that almost seemed to frighten the maid, one that was rather chilling. Her eyes, however, sparkled so innocently that it was impossible to tell rather or not she was something to fear. "Is someone bothering my parents about my debts again, Anastasie?"
"No, ma'am." Anastasie said slowly, "I was told to bring you news of your brother..."
"Francis?" Sophie tilted her head to the side sweetly, feeling her heart jump. Information about her brother hadn't reached her ears since the moment he left, probably kept from her by her parents who didn't need her worrying about such 'stupid' things.
"Yes. I was told to tell you that he's doing well with his work and he hopes that you don't let your parents cause you too much trouble..."
Sophie smiled happily, finally calmed down a bit. Perhaps tonight wasn't the night to leave. She could stay a while longer, gather her things, and then she would leave. "Thank you."
Once she left, she'd show her parents what she was worth and she'd surely make her brother proud.
