Job Skills: Elizabeta is a fairly good cook and uses her frying pan as a weapon rather adeptly. Her true skill, however, lies in information gathering. She can easily strike up a conversation with almost anyone, and she always tends to be up on current events, whether through gossip or overhearing her patrons’ conversations. This has led to a small, though profitable, side business in dealing information.
Personality and short background: Elizabeta grew up among a group of traveling merchants. During this time, she was allowed to roam free as she traveled to distant lands. She grew strong and wild, though very loyal to those around her. Her wildness mellowed as she eventually took on the big sister role for the younger children in the group, helping to care for them when their parents were busy selling their wares.
When she turned 16, Elizabeta parted from her extended family to make her own way in the world. Enamored with the bustling metropolis that is Londiniuim, she decided to settle there. She earned her money doing whatever odd jobs she could find, always completing her work with a smile. Her time among merchants left her skilled in the art of negotiation, and her natural charm proved valuable at making lasting business connections. Eventually, she was hired as a waitress at the local bar, which she now runs. Years of hard work have diminished her innocent love of city life, and at times, she pins for the days when she could travel the world at her whim doing as she pleased. However, she feels blessed to have such a good job and has no regrets over how her life has unfolded.
Elizabeta can generally be found at the bar serving drinks and swapping the latest gossip. She’s always willing to lend an ear to any problems, wanting everyone to enjoy themselves without the constraints of society. However, those who get a little too rowdy and start fighting or making sexual advances towards her will feel the blunt force of her frying pan.
RP sample: It was another busy night at The Bar. Elizabeta hummed to herself softly as she uncorked a fresh bottle of Merlot. Business was quite good lately, and she had considered adding some entertainment for her customers. Perhaps she would hire a singer, or maybe she’d give some up and coming group their start. She continued musing over the possibilities as she poured the wine into a clean glass, her slender hands slowly turning it as she poured. “Here you are, Sir,” she beamed, handing the glass over to the waiting customer. Most of her regulars didn’t even need to bother ordering anymore. As soon as she saw them enter, she’d have their preferred drink sitting at the counter for them. Others, like this man, she simply had yet to get to know.
As she walked towards the next customer, her eyes spotted the piano in the back corner of the tavern. It was old and covered in dust, but she was certain it still played. Yes, that was it. She’d hire a pianist. It would give her customers something to listen to while they chatted and drank, but it wouldn’t overpower any conversations. Besides, it wouldn’t hurt the place to have a bit of culture.
“Hey, watch where you’re going, you scrawny mutt!” Elizabeta’s head turned as she saw a young, red-faced man shouting at another man standing in front of him. His shirt was stained red from wine, and shattered glass was scattered in-between the two of them.
“What did you call me?”
“You heard me, Mutt. Now step aside.”
“Make me.”
“Gladly.”
Yes, Elizabeta thought, a little culture would definitely not hurt this place. She sighed, clearing her throat. “If you’re going to act like barbarians, do it outside. I don’t allow fighting in my bar,” she called out to them, her eyes narrowing. If there was one thing that soured her job, it was men who couldn’t hold their liquor. They just ruined the pleasant atmosphere of her tavern with their unruliness and perverseness. Her hand gripped at a nonexistent frying pan as she continued. “If you persist, then I will kick you out,” her voice lowered at those last few words. The men straightened up, shaking their heads quickly as they turned away from each other quickly. She relaxed, a smile returning to her face. Most people were smart enough to know that inside the bar, her word was law. Those who didn’t quickly learned. She glanced at the piano again. Yes, tomorrow she would put out an ad for a pianist. Maybe some dulcet tunes would ease her growing headache.
